"David [Gettman] was born in Hawaii, grew up in Washington DC, graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and now lives in London. He has led what is euphemistically called a 'portfolio' career, including management consulting, entrepreneurship, business communications, professional writing and editing, biomedical research, environmental work, and early childhood education. His past writing output has included speeches for the US government, advertising for IBM, and communications on sustainable development for the UN.
